"content": "<div id='content'><p data-page="0">因为最近有消息说Netflix要把这本书拍成剧，我就找来读了一下。好朋友Maya问我说，“你是怎么读的下去这种描述你日常生活痛苦的文字的？” 我说，当你麻木了，你就不会怕。</p><p data-page="0">但是阅读过程还是让我好生气。</p><p data-page="0">以下有大量剧透，吐槽，和我自己的思考。</p><p data-page="0">女主的人设是耶鲁本科，哥伦比亚JD毕业的台湾移民。父亲是台大经济学毕业的，在美国做教授，好友都是学界大牛。撇开亚裔身份不谈，其实她从小的成长轨迹已经非常接近于所谓的“白人精英”，高中是全美国最好的公立高中之一（现在这所高中需要考试才能进去，能考进去的话家长绝对不会送孩子去私校），大学又是学校足球队的。顺风顺水的常春藤本科，最好的法学院之一，毕业就进入最好的律所。</p><p data-page="0">但是她一直在强调自己diversity身份让自己多么不适，但是她同时又写了很多非常非常stereotypical的不专业的行为。比如重大客户开会前五分钟还在跟她妈妈用中文打电话，也没有提前去会议室准备或者check所有东西都到位了。（这里其实埋下了伏笔，后面说。）</p><p data-page="0">比如一入职就把office phone number给她妈妈，然后她妈妈就很骄傲地给了她所有朋友，导致开始有很多很多陌生人一直打电话骚扰她秘书，就为了听一句“你好，这里是女主的办公室”。我要是她的同事和秘书我要被烦死，我要是她的客户打电话一直被陌生人占线我也会很气。</p><p data-page="0">而且让我很烦的一点是，她同时却又非常非常entitled，字里行间表现出privilege。女主有高知父母，有良好的教育背景，没有文化和口音的困扰，但她从来不觉得这些是她的privilege，并且用这样的东西来歧视其他人，或者说至少没有对其他更弱小的人伸出援手。</p><p data-page="0">有段回忆讲她一年级时候有个中国来的同事，本科法学院成绩非常非常优秀，但是英文很差，说话轻声细语，因此被合伙人讨厌。然后这个女生半年以后鼓起勇气去找女主问，你说中文吗？女主描写了一大堆不想跟她交往过密，导致别人对她印象也不好的心理活动，然后撒谎说了，No。</p><p data-page="0">虽然全书非常想强调diversity对女主事业的影响，但是她对这个问题的考虑完全是从自私自利的角度来想的。她没有能够提供一个更宏大的主题，比如工作环境里遇到这种问题到底应该怎么办，作为senior的女性如何为其他人提供帮助。全书女主一直在说“我要升合伙人是为了证明自己，我要make history，我要向大家展示亚裔女生也可以做到”。但是真的到了diversity contribution的时候，她又百般推脱。</p><p data-page="0">比如说，他们公司因为一个丑闻事件，突然想注重diversity，于是请了一个专家来做调查。她刚上一个很重要的deal不想去，和合伙人说自己不愿意去，合伙人半威胁半强迫的说你必须去。于是她不情不愿过去谈话，说了一些公司里的情况。转头她就跟另一个马上要离开公司的diversity friend说you should speak up，朋友说我不想get involved。她觉得朋友怎么不为diversity奋斗，和他大吵一架。我心想，你这也太虚伪，太宽以律己严以待人了。</p><p data-page="0">还有呢，就是在升合伙人的时候，公司里面有白男A和白男B同时是她的竞争对手。白男A和diversity丑闻有关，就是一个彻头彻尾的混蛋，会歧视女性和少数族裔，而白男B至少表面上没有什么表现。女主的内心活动是：至少白男A升职以后，我作为合伙人在政治斗争时候好处理他一点。丝毫没有想过，这样一个人升了合伙人对公司diversity会有多差的影响。</p><p data-page="0">还有就是文中有一个关系户paralegal角色，叫Justin。Justin的爸爸是律所创始人和大合伙人的大学同学，所以女主一直认为他是传统有钱人白男来律所体验生活的。合伙人把Justin放在她deal上来帮忙，其实就是让Justin体验一下律所生活，于是她不断地说为了照顾这个paralegal自己有多累，paralegal主动和客户打招呼让她觉得非常不适。甚至在文件出了问题以后，第一反应也是是不是Justin自己私自改了文件，就为了让自己出丑？</p><p></p><p data-page="0">这里就讲到这本书的“高潮”部分了。前面都是细细碎碎的铺垫律所生活，讲女主八年级的时候在争取做合伙人的途中做了哪些准备。然后律所的大合伙人把她放在了一个特别大的项目上面，女主自己工作了很久，然后想让Justin去帮个忙。律所大合伙人一再跟她强调，你可以让别人来帮忙，不要让Justin来加班，女主觉得很气很委屈。然后她在周五下班的时候去了另一个合伙人办公室问问题，发现Justin被喊过去和合伙人喝酒了，她觉得气到爆炸，从此恨上了Justin——我心想，你被长辈加律所大合伙人喊去喝酒，你可以说不吗… 人家Justin就因为是一个家庭条件不错的白男就这样被你恨上，也太惨了吧。</p><p data-page="0">然后女主就带着这种情绪到了重大deal和客户的pre-closing meeting上面，客户发现她把收购价million写成了billion，然后把违约金5%写成了15%。她不断跟合伙人说自己绝不可能犯错，还回去不断怀疑是不是Justin搞小动作自己偷偷把文件改了，还是谁要陷害她。甚至直接打了个电话喊Justin来自己办公室说，“我现在马上就要和你谈谈！” </p><p data-page="0">看得我简直PTSD因为我就曾经是那个可怜的Justin。一年级时候和一个工作能力很差的高年级在一个很重要的deal上面，我把条款写好了她非说自己要调整一下格式，我就发给了她，结果她自己调整的时候没注意把文档搞错了，直接发给了客户。电话会上合伙人直接给她发了很多邮件问她什么情况，她转头就来骂我怎么回事。</p><p data-page="0">还好我当时已经工作了小半年，直接怼回去：“我没有改哦，最后一个改的人是你诶？”</p><p data-page="0">从开始工作到我自己后来开始带小朋友，我被告知的都是一个deal出什么错，不管是谁犯的，兜事儿的应该是最senior的那个人，因为他们都应该是supervise和review这些东西的人。我的习惯是，重要会议前5-10分钟打开发出去的文档再从头到尾读一遍，这样万一有什么问题还可以快速修正，然后发个email，“为了大家方便，这是我们这次要讨论的文件。” </p><p></p><p data-page="0">很快就到了宣布升合伙人的那天，大合伙人以“你在这个重大deal上犯了错”和“其他合伙人觉得你在diversity上面花了太多时间”为理由，没有晋升女主。女主当场炸了，说了句fuck you，直接辞职，然后被保安请出了办公室。</p><p data-page="0">女主说，我做了所有你要求我做的，包括参加diversity event，但是最后却因为这个把我拒之门外。</p><p data-page="0">但是拜托，我们不看童话故事很多年了。现实世界里面愿赌服输，女主不就是在拿自己的diversity身份做赌注吗，赌公司更注重这个，赌公司需要promote一个female diversity partner，只不过她输给了后台更加强硬的另一个高年级而已。</p><p></p><p data-page="0">辞职以后的女主在家浑浑噩噩了好多天，然后有一天看到了一个新的法规改革，于是她打电话给之前那个重大deal的客户说，我可以给你改改deal strucuture帮你搞完这个deal。客户很高兴。隔天，Justin也来找女主说，我找到了是白男B改的你的文件，这里是证据。</p><p data-page="0">女主问，你为什么要帮我？</p><p data-page="0">Justin说，因为你把我当做真正的paralegal。</p><p data-page="0">然后女主带着证据去找大合伙人，大合伙人一开始还不愿意相信，于是女主说，“你不信问问Justin”。大合伙人不得不相信Justin。</p><p data-page="0">这就是找关系户做自己的关系户，用魔法打败魔法吗！你说好的不喜欢Justin的关系户呢！不喜欢有钱人白男呢！为什么用到小朋友的时候那么顺手啊！</p><p></p><p data-page="0">最后，来到了魔幻结局。在我小时候看小时代，我以为没有比作者不知道怎么编，于是一把火烧死所有主角更震撼的结局了。没想到这里还有。女主说，我要独立自强，我不要play their game, 我要做自己的老板！于是自己开了个律所，带着本来公司的好多人跑了，还不断有新人愿意加入她的律所。</p><p data-page="0">你还不如写Madison avenue发生火灾，你们M&A组的坏蛋都被烧死了，于是律所只能promote你做合伙人，这样我觉得逻辑更通顺呢！！！</p><p></p><p data-page="0">当然，这本书有没有触动到我的点？那肯定是有的。女性受到的歧视，亚裔受到的歧视，白男们在律所里面很容易就混得如鱼得水，参与diversity活动容易对律师的职业发展有负面的影响，diversity之间在律所应该如何相处…… </p><p data-page="0">但是读完这本书我只觉得，在处理这些事情的时候，千万别觉得自己就是the one。The one needs to solve these all。但行好事，莫问前程。</p><p data-page="0">说了那么多大话，至少在问你说不说中文的时候，说一句Yes。</p><p></p></div>",

And I'm crazier when I'm next to her”的please don't tell her。并且个人觉得在第三章专辑里，关切和忧心似乎比重更大了点。<br><br>想来最开始领教jason mraz的嗓音和功力，是那张现场专辑“selection for friends”，跑上来直接一把吉他一口气就唱了半个多小时。听的我是当下骇然。而也是在这张live里，第一次听到了他正常的说话时的声音。当然，之后才又听了他04年出来的第一张live—tonight not again。这是后话。怎么形容呢，实在是觉得他生来就该是唱歌的。就算是说话的时候，声音都抑扬顿挫好听到不行，语气有点随性有点调侃再有一点真诚。跟台下的互动high到翻。光听听live的录音，就觉得要是真能在现场，那一定是精彩到极点的。<br><br>当然忍不住又要提到那首最最著名的life is wonderful。一首歌把什么话都说了。不动声色的啦啦啦的唱着，时光就像河流一样哗哗哗的流过，清澈的河水反射着太阳的光彩，然后悠悠的来这么一句生活多美好阿。。。啧啧。<br><br>有jason mraz的歌听，真的挺美好的。</div>",
